Owl Pellet Dissection & Discovery Kit
What's really inside an owl pellet? With the edZOOcation Owl Pellet Dissection & Discovery Kit, kids ages 5 and up get to find out for themselves. Owls swallow their prey whole and cough up the fur and bones they can't digest. Each pellet is a real, one-of-a-kind record of what an owl ate, waiting to be uncovered piece by piece.
Kids gently pull apart two owl pellets, sort the tiny skulls, jawbones, ribs and leg bones they find, and match each one on the Bone ID chart to work out whether it came from a bird, rodent, mole or shrew. Along the way, they practice careful observation and fine motor skills and learn how food chains and predator–prey relationships work.
