Guardians of the Forest

Founded in 2007, the Red Panda Network (RPN) is the world’s first organization dedicated solely to the conservation of red pandas. Their work spans community engagement, forest protection, and global awareness to ensure these animals and the biodiversity of their habitat continue to thrive.

How RPN is Making a Difference

1. Forest Guardians Program: RPN trains and employs local people in Nepal as "Forest Guardians" to monitor red panda populations, prevent poaching, and educate communities on sustainable practices.
2. Habitat Conservation: They restore and protect Nepal’s red panda habitat by planting trees and working with local governments to establish community-protected forests.
3. Eco-Tourism & Sustainable Livelihoods: They create sustainable income sources for communities through eco-tourism, reducing deforestation and illegal wildlife trade.
4. Education & Awareness: RPN teaches local communities and global audiences about the importance of red pandas through school programs, conservation campaigns, and research collaborations.

Despite their incredible work, red pandas remain endangered, with fewer than 10,000 left in the wild. That’s where we come in!
